Aurora Cannabis Inc (ACB) is a publicly traded company headquartered in Canada that produces and distributes medical cannabis products. Aurora is the second-largest marijuana company after Canopy Growth Corporation, when measured by market capitalization.
Aurora Stock Drop
On September 8, 2020, Aurora Cannabis released a statement, which said that it expected fourth quarter net revenue to be below what analysts had estimated. The press release also said that the company would record $1.8 billion in impairment charges, write down the value of production facilities and inventory, and that it had terminated a partnership with the UFC.
Another announcement stated that Miguel Martin would replace interim CEO Michael Singer, effective immediately.
The day of the announcements, the company’s stock price fell almost 12%.
Aurora has been the subject of a class action lawsuit, which alleges that they company misled investors about its business and prospects. The lawsuit was filed after Aurora missed on financial results in 2019.
